From organising their own mini festivals and touring nationally and internationally, to playing in alleyways, backyards and in front of churches, Wollongong garage punks HOON sound like the kinda friends we all wish we had. But in all seriousness, these guys are epic and if you ever the chance to catch one of their live shows, TAKE IT!
Not to be penned down within the genre, HOON’s heavily animated live show is reinforced by the sonic mayhem conveyed in their song writing. From bursts of raucous 2-minute thrillers, to dynamic 5-minute progressive ballads with hints of psychedelic and sludge metal. Hoon have developed an eclectic of chaotic garage punk that pays homage to their predecessors, whilst remaining distinct in the contemporary. That was a mouthful and a half, but get an earful of their current doings in 2020...
Cue a new chapter for HOON, kicking off the year by curating and playing at the all ages mini-fest ‘All Of Us’ and their performance at the Farmer & The Owl Festival before coming to a COVID influenced halt. With new material being recorded at The Brain Studios post restrictions, HOON will be back up and blaring a new release before the year is out, and we absolutely cannot wait. Did we mention every purchase over $150 for the next fortnight will get you one of these super limited edition HOON packs?
